If you’re reading this blog, you may be wondering “Am I being scammed?” Of course, we sure hope the answer is no! We want all Publishers Clearing House fans to stay “scam-safe”, so please keep the following tips in mind!

1) PCH Employees Do Not Send Friend Requests: This is an important one! If you receive a friend request from someone claiming to be from the Prize Patrol, that’s a surefire way to know it’s a scam! Scammers pass themselves off as Dave, Todd, or myself – with the intention of tricking our fans into believing they’ve won. Please fans, do NOT fall for this! The Prize Patrol does NOT send friend requests or private messages on Facebook. And remember, the Prize Patrol members don’t even have their own pages anymore – we just have one official PCH Prize Patrol Fan Page on Facebook!
Wondering how you can prevent friend requests from scammers? Read these important tips!
2) You Never Have to Pay To Claim A PCH Prize: And we mean NEVER! At Publishers Clearing House, the winning is ALWAYS free – no exceptions! So if you’re contacted and told that you’ve won a prize from Publishers Clearing House, but that you must send money or buy a pre-paid money card in order to claim your prize, then you’ll know right away that it’s a SCAM!
If you would like to find out more about prepaid card scams, please read these important tips!
3) Winners Are Never Notified Through Facebook: Just like the Prize Patrol NEVER sends friend requests or messages on Facebook, we also never contact winners that way! The only way you’ll know if you’ve won a major SuperPrize from Publishers Clearing House is if we show up at your front door with a Big Check, flowers and balloons!
We NEVER tell anyone in advance – that would spoil the surprise!
After reading these tips, if you still think you’re being scammed, please DON’T BE FOOLED! Remember that you can report it to us using our new online PCH Scam Form.
Stay safe, everyone!
