If your entry arrived to us in time, there’s a possibility that the Prize Patrol could actually be coming to your very doorstep. Let that sink in a minute. Would you say that today is certainly a day when you might want to have some extra luck on your side?
Many people believe in luck. Some call it faith. Others think that positive thoughts will help influence their outcome. Maybe that’s you! Maybe you’re someone who believes that life is too short to “leave everything up to chance,” that it’s worth putting the extra effort in towards something you believe in…and maybe, just maybe, you can have an hand in influencing your destiny!
And if you’re a frequent entrant into the Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes, you definitely are a believer that good – and I mean really good – things can happen if you just keep “going for the gold!”
So do you think there’s a chance that the Prize Patrol could be arriving in your area, driving down you street, and knocking on your door tomorrow? And is there something you can think of to bring you a little extra luck today?
Let me ask you, do you have a good luck ritual around your home? Is there something you do or something you have, maybe for sporting events or special occasions, that means something special to you? I thought I’d ask some of my PCH co-workers what THEY do when want luck on their side!
Al G says, “When I was younger, one time I bought a new hockey jersey to help support my favorite team. Then they started losing, I thought ‘I need to go back to wearing my old jersey! Maybe they’ll start winning again!’ I don’t do that any more, but in recent years my son and I will actually leave our house when the Steelers are on and go to our favorite hot wing restaurant and support the team there. I think it’s definitely worked!”
Nick S shares, “I feel like symmetrical or even numbers have some positive significance. For example, when I’m on the treadmill I’ll try and get to a certain number, like a 333 or something. I also have a poster that I keep in my office as a good luck charm. I’m an artist, and I got it from my first mentor. It’s brought me luck ever since!”
And finally, Val D had this to say: “I have a lucky dollar that my mom gave to me. It has some writing on the back, not from her, though. Basically it says, ‘whoever receives this bill will be blessed with lots of money.’ And then it says to write this on 10 other bills. I can’t remember if I did that or not, but I know two things: first, I’ll never spend it. And second, my wallet has never been empty since!”
As you can see, we have a lot of different things we do or hold on to that bring us luck! Personally, I’m a big believer in having inspirational quotes on hand or around the house. If it’s a positive saying, encouraging scripture, or just a motivational insight that someone has shared with me, I like reminding myself of them before I have a big event or something important going on. It keeps me focused and always remembering that good things CAN and DO happen!
Now while none of us who work at PCH can win the $1 Million SuperPrize tomorrow, you can! So start thinking of what some of your good luck, positive attitude encouraging rituals can be!
